Previously Harris Township Fire Station 1

Harris Township Fire Station 1 was a cornerstone of the community’s emergency services until December 31, 2009. On January 1, 2010, the Harris Township Fire and Clay Fire departments combined their efforts, and the building was re-designated as Clay Fire Station 5. This collaboration enhanced the fire protection and emergency response capabilities in the area.

In 2013, the station was renamed Station 25, reflecting its ongoing role and commitment to serving the Harris Township community with a new identity.

Service Area

Station 25 is situated at 12481 Anderson, covering a significant area within the Harris Township community. Its service area extends from the Canadian National Railroad to the West, the Elkhart County Line to the East, the Michigan State Line to the North, and Douglas Road to the South. This strategic location enables Station 25 to effectively respond to a broad range of emergency situations throughout its district.

Housed at Station 25

Station 25 is well-equipped to handle various emergency scenarios with its robust facilities. The station can accommodate up to nine firefighters on a 24-hour basis, ensuring that a skilled and responsive team is always on duty. It features six apparatus bays and houses several key units, including:

  • Engine 25: A versatile firefighting engine designed for a range of emergency responses.

  • Tanker 25: A critical vehicle for water supply and support in firefighting operations.

  • Hazmat 25: A vehicle dedicated to handling hazardous materials and ensuring safety during such incidents.
  • Unit 25: A multi-purpose vehicle supporting various emergency functions.
  • Foam 5: A unit equipped with foam technology for combating flammable liquid fires and other specialized fire scenarios.

Station 25 continues to be a vital asset within the Clay Fire Department, reflecting the department’s dedication to providing comprehensive and effective emergency services to the Harris Township community.
