Child Safety Seat Inspection

Ensuring your child’s safety while on the road is one of the most important responsibilities for any parent or caregiver. Yet, according to Safe Kids Worldwide, 73% of car seats are not used or installed correctly, leading to preventable injuries or even death in the event of an accident. Proper installation and usage of a child safety seat can greatly reduce the risk of harm in the event of a crash, making it critical to understand how to secure your child properly.

At Clay Fire, we offer free Child Safety Seat Inspections to help you ensure that your child’s car seat is correctly installed and provides the highest level of protection. Our certified child passenger safety technicians are here to assist you in safeguarding your family.

Why is Proper Installation So Important?

Using a child safety seat correctly is critical for your child’s protection. When used properly, child safety seats can reduce the risk of death in a crash by as much as 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers. However, an incorrectly installed car seat can provide little to no protection. That’s why our Child Safety Seat Inspection Program exists: to ensure that every family has access to expert advice and guidance on how to properly use their child safety seat.

Child Safety Seat Inspection Program

In partnership with the Automotive Safety Program and Indiana University School of Medicine, and with support from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, we participate in a statewide network of Child Safety Seat Inspection Stations. These stations provide a crucial service to parents and caregivers, offering professional evaluations of child car seats and guidance on how to ensure your child’s safety.
